Thoughts on week two of College Football 2013

Or, things I would have posted Sunday had I not watched 13 more hours of football.

Why aren't Miami, Florida, and Florida State in the same conference?  Have they ever been in the same conference?  Who got pissed and left?  I want to know.

Why did Cal bother hiring Sonny Dykes?  Jeff Tedford coulda blown a double digit lead to Northwestern in week one and nearly lost to an FCS school in week two for much cheaper.

Enough about Oregon's offense, the D has allowed 13 points in two weeks.

Please tell me KU's center is already nicknamed "The Big Lewandowksi."

I cannot believe how many announcers STILL say:  "There's a whistle that stops play, let's check the.... oh, it's the end of the quarter."  PAY ATTENTION TO THAT, IT'S YOUR JOB.

KU football had a wide receiver catch a touchdown for the first time since October of 2011.  They also ended an 11-game losing streak.  I wonder if those things are related.

KU later had a guy named "Bourbon" score a touchdown.  I certainly hope I'm not the first one to think that should be a drinking game.

Lane Kiffin, welcome to the hot seat!

Huh.  Maybe BYU is better than I thought.  Or Texas is worse.  Probably both.

Now that Georgia lost in week one, and won Saturday, they'll probably win all the way to the SEC title game... lose, and end up in the Chick-Fil-A Bowl.

Louisville is the best team in a terrible conference.  So what does that mean?

Thank you Notre Dame for losing in week two.  I do not want to hear about you making a BCS bowl for another ten years, mmmmmkay?????

Baylor is averaging 69.5 PPG.  They have also played two atrocious teams.  I would hold off on Baylor being "a force" for the time being.

Bret Bielema vs Arkansas fans watch:  "pulled away" from Samford with two 4th quarter scores.  Not Stanford.  Samford.  Next, Southern Miss, who lost to Texas State by eight and Nebraska by, uh, 40.  If you struggle here....

Duke football watch:  they beat Memphis 28-14!  First time in 15 years they've started 2-0. Next, the ACC opener against the Rambling Wreck of Georgia Tech.

New Mexico watch:  beat UTEP in OT, 42-35!  Whooo!  Next, at Pitt.

Is Tennessee even going to have a chance against Oregon this Saturday:  The Vols won 52-20 against Western Kentucky, and at one point got 5 turnovers in 6 plays.  So there's a chance they'll keep it close.

Former Big East teams are still terrible watch:  You did see that Memphis lost to Duke, right?
